Infrared Sauna
Unlike a traditional sauna, the infrared sauna uses infrared wavelengths to warm your body. Infrared wavelengths are what makes the sun feel warm, and ultraviolet wavelengths are what makes the sun bright; the infrared sauna provides customizable and therapeutic heat with none of the harmful effects of prolonged sun exposure.
Infrared energy can penetrate deep into your body, resulting in better circulation, encouraging the production of energy in the cells, and providing pain relief. There are numerous other wellness benefits, including improved sleep, relaxation, stress relief, clearer skin, relief for sore muscles and joints, detoxification, and a serotonin boost.
Because an infrared sauna heats your body directly with infrared energy, rather than by heating the air around you, there isn’t an uncomfortable amount of steam or heat. Temperatures in an infrared sauna don’t have to be as high for you to see benefit: traditional saunas can be as hot as 195°F, but infrared saunas are beneficial between 115° – 135°F.
If you have cardiac conditions, consult your doctor before using a sauna. The sauna isn’t safe during pregnancy, but it’s great for the postpartum period if you have clearance from your doctor or midwife!
If you have questions about the sauna before you book, call or text (409) 790-0100.
